Bone Density

Bone Density

Bone density plays a crucial role in the lives of individuals with spinal cord injuries. When the spinal cord is damaged, it can disrupt the signals that control bone metabolism, leading to decreased bone density, a condition known as 'disuse osteoporosis.' As a result, those with spinal cord injuries are at a higher risk of fractures, bone deformities, and complications.
