Aging and Mental Health

Caring for and maintaining our mental health is an important priority when it comes to aging with an SCI or any other disability. The process of aging, changes to our levels of independence, increased financial concerns or a change in caretaker roles can provoke mental health challenges and issues.

In this video, you will learn about:

  • Personal experiences of other people living with SCI had managing their mental health, and words of advice from an expert.
  • How to apply the skills of ‘thought identification’ and ‘thought challenging’ to overcome mental health challenges.
  • Common myths about mental health.
  • How to evaluate your thinking styles to improve your mental wellbeing.
