Sybille Bergin is a Physiotherapist specializing in neurological rehabilitation. Sybille and her family built Bergin Motion, a family owned physiotherapy company in the Barrie area. The Bergins are passionate about this community and doing everything they can to help people achieve their highest potential.

Sybille developed the skills to navigate complex orthopedic injuries and neuro-muscular conditions through many courses: Bad Ragaz Aquatherapy, PNF and Bobath courses and finally, the ‘Neuro-Development Therapy’ certification course completed in Canada. Sybille is an expert in navigating Auto Insurance claims and is well known in the Simcoe region given her close relationship with Law offices, case managers and health providers working with her clients. She has long been a supporter of SCIO, working closely with Heather Hollingshead in Barrie.

Physical therapy for neurological diseases is a specialized treatment that aims to help those with neurological conditions regain functional mobility, strength, balance, and coordination. The objective could be to slow the progression of a neurological illness or to help it recover.

How does neurorehabilitation work? Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as eating, dressing, bathing, urinating, writing, cooking, and basic housekeeping, may be provided in neurological rehab programs. Therapy to assist with managing stress, anxiety, and depression as well as speaking, reading, writing, and swallowing.

What distinguishes a neuro physiotherapist from a physiotherapist? A neuro physiotherapist has specialized knowledge, education, and experience in neurological conditions in addition to the required registered physiotherapy qualifications.

People with neurological disorders are examined and treated by a neuro physiotherapist. These are disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, and nerves, which make up the central nervous system. Complex motor issues are frequently present in those who have neurological conditions. What conditions call for neurological physical therapy? Stroke, traumatic brain injury/head injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson’s disease, and Bell’s palsy are among conditions that are treated using neurological physical therapy.
