Dating with a Disability: Sexual Misconceptions

You’ve seen it in so many romantic movies – or maybe even in a porn video – people just jumping right in. There is very little conversation beforehand. Off come the clothes and cue all the heavy breathing.

Maybe this happens in real life from time to time, but these kinds of representations or expectations really aren’t all that realistic. If you talk to anyone who’s enjoying a satisfying sex life, they’ll probably tell you communication plays a big part in that. Talking about likes and dislikes. Sharing curious thoughts. Being willing to discuss and adapt and try new things – talking about all of this – it’s the key to enjoying a mutually satisfying sex life.
