Self Catheterization: How to perform catheterization with VaPro Plus Pocket™ catheters | Hollister

This video demonstrates the process of self catheterization using the VaPro Plus Pocket catheters. The VaPro plus pocket catheter is a small, thin, and flexible tube that can be inserted into the urethra to collect urine. It has a protective tip that bypasses microbes in the first 15 millimeters of the distal urethra, which may reduce the risk of urinary tract infection.

Before using the catheter, it is important to wash your hands and genitals, and then sit or stand in a comfortable position. Insert the catheter into the urethra in short incremental pushes until urine starts to flow. Once urine flow has stopped, slowly withdraw the catheter and hold the collection bag by the handle. With the correct technique, using the VaPro plus pocket catheter is a safe and effective way to empty your bladder.
