In today’s video, I share how to clean and sanitize my wheelchair. As a paraplegic female from a spinal cord injury, mobility equipment is essential for quality of life. Many people have been asking online about the proper way to sanitize and disinfect a wheelchair during the Covid-19 pandemic. For the home, and other non-health care environments, a combination of bleach and water is the most common recommendation. Alcohol is also effective for cleaning wheelchair wheels and for other wheelchair surface disinfection. In addition, wheelchair surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned with warm soap and water to remove dirt, then chemical disinfection. Keeping your wheelchair properly cleaned and disinfected will help to keep it new and functioning properly. It is also essential to minimize the spread of germs and bacteria from viruses such as Coronavirus.
