Today, we\u2019re talking about massage therapy for paraplegics and home massage therapy for people with spinal cord injury. For people with a spinal cord injury, massage therapy can provide much-needed relief. Today, we discuss paraplegic massage and how to massage a paralyzed person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People who have a spinal cord injury say that regular massage therapy is (aside from medication) one of the best treatments for pain, mainly because it is very effective in relaxing muscle tissue. Therapeutic massage therapy is helpful for people with spinal cord injuries because it helps return blood flow to the heart. Lack of movement, fewer muscle contractions, and limited overall activity all reduce blood flow, so massage therapy can make up for this. Massage therapy also benefits spinal cord injury patients in terms of mental and physical health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regular massage therapy sessions for SCI patients does not only help the person both physically and emotionally, but also provides pain relief, stress relief, improved circulation, better range of motion, relaxation.
