Did you know there are only two accessible comedy clubs in all of Toronto? In this episode of Underestimated, Oda meets comedian Blair Williams at The Corner Comedy Club in downtown Toronto before his set. Oda and Blair talk about how comedy can raise awareness and bring people together. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blair Williams is comedian, advocate and content creator. As a comedian Blair blends humour and advocacy, using his platform to raise awareness about the daily obstacles faced by people with disabilities. He promotes empathy and understanding one performance at a time, one laugh at a time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Blair’s view, comedy is the perfect vehicle for talking about uncomfortable things. There are a few questions everybody asks him about his disability (e.g. \u00ab\u00a0how do you pee?). When that happens, he says you can make it an awkward conversation or you can make it a funny one. And people are generally a lot more receptive to a funny conversation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
