Wheelchair Fishing at Lunenburg Nova Scotia | Wheelchair Outdoor Activities

Today, Nancy visits beautiful Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Lunenburg is a world heritage site, one of the must-go places when you visit Nova Scotia. Nancy brings us along as she goes deep sea fishing for the first time in her life. Although it is not fully wheelchair accessible, it doesn’t stop Nancy from enjoying this trip. It is very affordable and also everyone caught something big and small. There is not so much technique to it, you don’t need any previous experience. Being a wheelchair user, Nancy didn’t find it challenging at all.

Here is some practical information, in case you are planning a trip: The address of the Pier: enter in GPS “Lunenburg Waterfront, Canada, 146 Bluenose Dr, Lunenburg, NS”

Accessible bathrooms can be found inside the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic, 68 Bluenose Dr, Lunenburg, NS

Call the captain ahead of time about the size of your wheelchair and how heavy you are approximately. Book and purchase your tickets on their website to secure limited spots. Plan ahead, do not be late, otherwise, they will go without you and won’t refund you. Make sure you wear sunscreen and bring an extra layer of clothing because it can be very windy!
