Spasticity

Spasticity

Spasticity is a neurological condition characterized by muscle stiffness and involuntary muscle contractions. It often results from damage or dysfunction in the nervous system, such as in conditions like multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, or spinal cord injuries. Spasticity can cause muscle tightness, discomfort, and difficulty with movement, impacting an individual's mobility and overall quality of life. Managing spasticity may involve various treatments, including physical therapy, medication, and in some cases, surgical interventions, aimed at reducing muscle stiffness and improving functional abilities.
